클로드도 월 20달러, 챗GPT도 월 20달러다.
값이 같으니 성능 좋은 걸 고르면 될 것 같은데..
지능 순위 10위 안에 제미나이는 한 개도 없다. 그런데 삼성은 업무용 AI로 제미나이를 골랐다.
순위표만 보고 고르면 안 된다는 얘기다. 2026년 7월 28일 기준으로 정리해봤다.
지금 제일 똑똑한 건 오퍼스5다
AI 평가기관 아티피셜 애널리시스의 종합 지능 지수 순위다. 7월 28일 확인한 값이다.

일주일 전만 해도 페이블5가 60점으로 1위였다. 7월 24일 오퍼스5가 나오면서 바뀌었다.
눈에 띄는 건 따로 있다. 10위 안에 앤트로픽과 오픈AI 모델만 있다. 구글 제미나이는 없고, 중국 키미 K3가 7위다.
요금은 셋 다 다르게 쪼개놨다
개인 요금제다. 공식 페이지에서 확인한 2026년 7월 28일 기준 값이다.
클로드 — 무료 / 프로 월 20달러(연간 결제 시 월 17달러) / 맥스 월 100달러부터. 맥스는 프로 대비 사용량 5배·20배 두 갈래다.
챗GPT — 무료 / 고(Go) 월 8달러 / 플러스 월 20달러 / 프로 월 100달러·200달러.
제미나이 — 무료 / 구글 AI 플러스 월 7,500원(저장용량 400GB) / 구글 AI 프로(5TB) / 구글 AI 울트라 월 119,000원·300,000원(20TB부터).
다만 챗GPT 요금은 오픈AI 공식 페이지가 자동 접속을 막아 직접 확인하지 못했다. 여러 매체가 정리한 값이라 공식 표기와 다를 수 있다. 구글 AI 프로의 원화 가격도 페이지에 표시되지 않아 여기 적지 않는다.
여기서 갈리는 지점이 하나 보인다. 챗GPT만 20달러 아래 단계(월 8달러)가 있고, 제미나이만 저장용량을 같이 판다.
무료로 어디까지 되나
돈 내기 전에 이게 더 궁금할 거다. 공식 페이지에 적힌 무료 단계 내용이다.
클로드 무료는 웹·iOS·안드로이드·데스크톱에서 쓸 수 있고, 웹 검색과 대화 간 기억이 된다. 코드 실행이 붙은 파일 만들기와 외부 서비스 연결(커넥터)도 무료에 들어 있다.
유료로 올라가야 열리는 건 사용량, 그리고 클로드 코드·코워크·디자인 같은 도구다. 마이크로소프트 365 연동도 프로부터다.
제미나이 무료는 3.6 플래시를 쓰고 상위 모델인 3.1 프로도 일부 열린다. 이미지 생성·편집, 딥 리서치, 제미나이 라이브, 캔버스가 무료에 포함되고 저장용량은 15GB다.
즉 '무료는 맛보기'가 아니다. 웹 검색·기억·리서치처럼 일상적으로 쓰는 기능은 셋 다 무료에서 이미 된다.
유료 결제는 기능을 여는 게 아니라 대부분 사용량을 늘리는 쪽이라고 보면 맞다.
값이 반으로 떨어지는 중이다
API 가격은 더 빠르게 움직인다. 100만 토큰당 가격이다.
- 클로드 오퍼스5 — 5~25달러
- 클로드 페이블5 — 10~50달러
- GPT-5.6 솔 — 5~30달러
오퍼스5는 자사 페이블5의 정확히 절반이다. 성능은 더 높은데 값은 반이다.
여기에 중국 키미 K3가 7위 성능을 훨씬 싼값에 내놓으면서, 7월 16일 하루에 앤트로픽과 오픈AI의 예상 기업가치 464조원이 깎였다는 분석도 나왔다.
개인 요금제가 아직 20달러에 묶여 있는 게 오히려 이상한 상황이다.
그런데 삼성은 왜 제미나이를 골랐나
지능 순위 10위 안에 없는 제미나이를, 삼성은 업무용으로 택했다.
이유는 성능이 아니었다. 제미나이 엔터프라이즈는 앤트로픽 클로드를 포함해 200여 개 모델을 골라 쓸 수 있게 열어뒀고, 지메일·문서 같은 이미 쓰던 도구에 그대로 붙는다.
기업용 시장 점유율은 앤트로픽 40%, 오픈AI 27%, 구글 21%다. 구글은 3위다.
3위 사업자가 1위 모델까지 얹어주며 '문턱'을 없애는 전략을 쓴 셈이다.
개인도 똑같다. 지메일과 구글 문서를 하루 종일 쓰는 사람에게는 61점짜리 모델보다 '내 문서를 이미 알고 있는 AI'가 낫다.
세 회사가 지금 파는 건 '모델'이 아니다
요즘 세 곳이 내놓는 걸 보면 방향이 뚜렷하다.
앤트로픽은 '클로드 코워크'를 폰과 웹으로 넓혔다. 오픈AI는 'ChatGPT Work'를 붙였다. 구글은 제미나이 3.5 플래시에 컴퓨터를 직접 조작하는 기능을 넣었다.
셋 다 같은 말을 하고 있다. 질문에 답하는 AI에서, 대신 일하는 AI로 간다는 것.
그래서 '어느 게 더 똑똑한가'보다 '내 일을 어디에 맡길 수 있나'가 실제 선택 기준이 된다.
그래서 뭘 쓰면 되나
정답은 없고, 갈림길은 세 개다.
① 글을 길게 쓰거나 코드를 다룬다면 — 클로드. 지능 지수 1~3위를 혼자 차지하고 있고, 기업 시장 점유율도 40%로 1위다.
② 이것저것 다 쓰고 값을 아끼고 싶다면 — 챗GPT. 셋 중 유일하게 월 8달러 단계가 있고, 이미지·음성까지 한곳에서 된다.
③ 지메일·구글 문서 위에서 일한다면 — 제미나이. 성능 순위는 밀려도 '내가 이미 쓰는 곳'에 붙어 있다는 게 크다. 저장용량이 덤으로 따라온다.
월 20달러가 부담이면 셋 다 무료 단계가 있다. 무료로 2주씩 돌려보고 정하는 게 순위표 보는 것보다 정확하다.
성능 1위를 고르는 게 아니라, 내가 이미 있는 자리에 붙는 걸 고르는 거다.
덧붙이면, 이 순위는 오래 안 간다.
7월 한 달에만 페이블5가 1위였다가 오퍼스5로 바뀌었고, 값은 절반이 됐고, 중국 모델이 7위로 올라왔다.
그러니 지금 하나를 정해두고 1년 쓰겠다는 계획은 안 세우는 게 낫다. 반년 뒤에 다시 보면 표가 통째로 바뀌어 있을 거다..

Same price, so you'd just pick the smarter one..
Except there isn't a single Gemini model in the top 10 of the intelligence rankings. And yet Samsung picked Gemini as its work AI.
So the leaderboard isn't the answer. Here's how it looks as of July 28, 2026.
Opus 5 is the smartest right now
These are the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index rankings, checked on July 28.
- 1st — Claude Opus 5 (max), 61 · Anthropic
- 2nd — Claude Opus 5 (xhigh), 60
- 3rd — Claude Fable 5, 60
- 4th — GPT-5.6 Sol (max), 59 · OpenAI
- 6th — GPT-5.6 Sol (xhigh), 58

A week ago Fable 5 held first place at 60. Opus 5 landed on July 24 and changed that.
The more striking part is who isn't there. The top 10 is only Anthropic and OpenAI. Google's Gemini is absent, and China's Kimi K3 sits at 7th.
The three price their plans very differently
Individual plans, as listed on the official pages on July 28, 2026.
Claude — Free / Pro at $20 a month ($17 a month billed annually) / Max from $100 a month, in 5x and 20x usage tiers.
ChatGPT — Free / Go at $8 / Plus at $20 / Pro at $100 and $200.
Gemini — Free / Google AI Plus at ₩7,500 a month (400GB storage) / Google AI Pro (5TB) / Google AI Ultra at ₩119,000 and ₩300,000 (from 20TB).
One caveat: OpenAI's pricing page blocks automated access, so those figures come from secondary reporting rather than the official page and may differ. Google AI Pro's won price wasn't rendered on the page, so it isn't listed here.
One split is already visible. Only ChatGPT has a rung below $20, and only Gemini bundles storage.
How far the free tiers get you
This is probably the more pressing question before paying. Here's what the official pages list under free.
Claude's free tier works on web, iOS, Android and desktop, with web search and memory across conversations. File creation with code execution and connectors to outside services are in there too.
What paying unlocks is usage, plus tools like Claude Code, Cowork and Design. Microsoft 365 integration starts at Pro.
Gemini's free tier runs 3.6 Flash with some access to the higher 3.1 Pro. Image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live and Canvas are included, with 15GB of storage.
So free isn't a teaser. Web search, memory, research — the things you'd reach for daily already work on all three without paying.
Paying mostly buys you more usage, not a different feature set.
Prices are falling by half
API pricing moves faster. Per million tokens:
- Claude Opus 5 — $5 to $25
- Claude Fable 5 — $10 to $50
- GPT-5.6 Sol — $5 to $30
Opus 5 is exactly half of Anthropic's own Fable 5. Higher score, half the price.
Then China's Kimi K3 arrived with 7th-place performance at a fraction of the cost, and one analysis put the combined drop in Anthropic and OpenAI's estimated valuations on July 16 at about 464 trillion won.
The odd part is that consumer plans are all still anchored at $20.
So why did Samsung choose Gemini
Samsung picked Gemini for work — a model that isn't in the top 10.
The reason wasn't raw capability. Gemini Enterprise lets you pick from some 200 models, Anthropic's Claude included, and it plugs straight into Gmail and Docs, tools people already live in.
Enterprise market share runs Anthropic 40%, OpenAI 27%, Google 21%. Google is third.
So the third-place player removed the barrier to entry — and threw in the first-place model while it was at it.
The same logic applies to individuals. If you spend all day in Gmail and Docs, an AI that already knows your documents beats a 61-point model.
What they're selling isn't the model
Look at what the three shipped recently and the direction is obvious.
Anthropic extended Claude Cowork to phone and web. OpenAI added ChatGPT Work. Google gave Gemini 3.5 Flash the ability to operate a computer directly.
All three are saying the same thing: move from an AI that answers questions to an AI that does the work.
Which makes "what can I hand off" a more useful question than "which one is smarter".
So which one should you use
There's no single answer, but there are three forks.
① Long-form writing or code — Claude. It holds 1st through 3rd on the index by itself, and leads enterprise share at 40%.
② A bit of everything, on a budget — ChatGPT. It's the only one with an $8 rung, and images and voice are in the same place.
③ You work inside Gmail and Docs — Gemini. It ranks lower, but it sits where you already are, and the storage comes along.
If $20 a month is a stretch, all three have a free tier. Two weeks on each will tell you more than any leaderboard.
You're not picking the highest score. You're picking the one that attaches to where you already are.
One more thing: this ranking won't hold.
In July alone, Fable 5 lost first place to Opus 5, the price halved, and a Chinese model climbed to 7th.
So don't pick one and plan to keep it for a year. Six months from now the table will look different..
