그것도 미국 교사한테 통째로..
조건은 딱 하나다. 인증된 K-12 교사면 된다.

7월 14일, 앤트로픽이 'Claude for Teachers'를 내놨다.
미국의 인증된 K-12 교사에게 클로드 프리미엄 기능을 준다.
완전 무료다. 체험판이 아니다.
2027년 6월 30일까지 가입하면 1년간 쓸 수 있다.
요즘 '무료'라는 말이 흔한데.. 이건 프리미엄을 통째로 여는 쪽이다.
뭘 해주는 건데?
그냥 챗봇 하나 던져준 게 아니라는 게 핵심이다.
- 수업계획 — 50개 주 학력기준에 맞춰 짜준다
- 수준별 맞춤 — 이해도가 다른 학생에 맞게 나눠준다
- 학급 데이터 분석 — 개별 지도에 쓰라고
- 반복 업무 자동화 — 매일 쪽지시험 검토 같은 걸 예약해둔다
여기서 눈에 띄는 건 '50개 주 학력기준'이다.
미국은 주마다 교육 기준이 다르다.
그걸 전부 매핑해뒀다는 거다. 품이 엄청나게 드는 일이다.
게다가 아무 커리큘럼이나 쓴 게 아니다.
OpenSciEd와 Illustrative Mathematics. 검증된 커리큘럼을 붙였다.
'그럴듯한 수업계획'이 아니라 '기준에 맞는 수업계획'을 노렸다는 뜻이다..
교사 도구 9개랑 연결된다
개인적으론 이 부분이 제일 인상적이었다.
교사들이 실제로 쓰는 도구 9개와 붙었다.
ASSISTments, Brisk Teaching, Canva Education, Coteach, Diffit, Eedi, MagicSchool, Snorkl, TeachFX.
이름은 낯설어도 요지는 하나다.
교사를 클로드로 데려오는 게 아니라, 교사가 이미 일하는 자리로 클로드가 들어간다는 것..
'교사 업무 전체'를 겨냥했다는 게 여기서 드러난다.
혼자 만든 게 아니다
파트너 명단이 좀 무겁다.
미국교사연맹(AFT)이 붙었다.
Teach For America, 게이츠재단도 들어왔다.
디트로이트 공립학군에서는 파일럿을 돌렸다.
커리큘럼 기준은 Learning Commons와 맞췄고.
AFT 회장 랜디 와인가튼은 이게 '교사가, 교사를 위해 설계한 도구'라는 점을 짚었다.
교원단체가 AI 도구를 이렇게 감싸는 것도.. 흔한 그림은 아니다.
교사가 아니어도 볼 대목
솔직히 나는 미국 교사가 아니다. 당장 쓸 일은 없다.
근데 방향이 보인다.
지금까지 AI 회사들은 '누구나 쓰는 챗봇'을 팔았다.
이제는 '직업 하나'를 통째로 파고든다.
그 직업이 쓰는 도구, 그 직업의 기준, 심지어 그 직업의 단체까지 안고 들어간다.
범용 챗봇을 파는 시대에서, 특정 직업의 업무 흐름 안으로 통째로 들어가는 시대로 가고 있다.
교사 다음은 누구일까..
내 직업에 맞춘 AI가 나온다면, 그때는 '나는 AI 안 써'라고 버티기가 좀 어려워질 것 같다.

It gives verified K-12 educators in the US premium Claude capabilities.
Completely free. Not a trial.
Sign up by June 30, 2027 and you get a year of access.
'Free' gets thrown around a lot these days.. but this one opens the premium tier outright.
So what does it actually do?
The key is that they didn't just hand over a chatbot.
- Lesson planning — aligned to standards across all 50 states
- Differentiation — tailored to students at different levels of readiness
- Class data analysis — for personalized instruction
- Task automation — scheduling things like a daily review of exit tickets
What stands out here is 'all 50 states.'
In the US, education standards differ state by state.
They mapped all of them. That's an enormous amount of grunt work.
And they didn't grab just any curriculum.
OpenSciEd and Illustrative Mathematics. They plugged in evidence-based curricula.
Meaning they aimed at 'lesson plans that meet the standard,' not 'lesson plans that look plausible'..
It connects to 9 teacher tools
Personally, this was the part that struck me most.
It hooks into 9 tools teachers actually use.
ASSISTments, Brisk Teaching, Canva Education, Coteach, Diffit, Eedi, MagicSchool, Snorkl, and TeachFX.
The names may be unfamiliar, but the point is one thing.
They're not dragging teachers over to Claude — Claude is walking into where teachers already work..
That's where you see they aimed at a teacher's entire workload.
They didn't build it alone
The partner list carries some weight.
The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) signed on.
Teach For America and the Gates Foundation came in too.
It was piloted in the Detroit Public Schools Community District.
Curriculum standards were aligned with Learning Commons.
AFT president Randi Weingarten pointed out it's a tool designed by and for educators.
A teachers' union embracing an AI tool like this.. isn't a common sight either.
Worth a look even if you don't teach
Honestly, I'm not a US teacher. I won't be using this tomorrow.
But you can see where this is going.
Until now AI companies sold 'a chatbot anyone can use.'
Now they're going after one entire profession at a time.
The tools that job uses, the standards it runs on, even the organizations behind it.
We're moving from selling general-purpose chatbots to moving right inside the workflow of a specific job.
So who comes after teachers..
If an AI shows up built for your own job, holding out with 'I don't use AI' gets a lot harder.
