제미나이 앱의 '예약된 작업'은 정해 둔 시간에 맞춰 뉴스 요약이나 일정 정리 같은 결과를 준비해 두는 기능입니다. 구글은 제미나이를 일일, 주간, 월간 루틴의 일부로 만들 수 있다고 소개합니다. 다만 결과는 미리 만들어집니다. 주식 가격처럼 빠르게 바뀌는 데이터는 받아 볼 때 최신이 아닙니다.
네이버 지식iN에서 'AI 업무 자동화'로 검색되는 질문이 9월 24일 기준 6,919건입니다.
■ 쓰기 전 조건
개인 구글 계정이나 요건을 갖춘 워크스페이스 직장·학교 계정으로 로그인하고, 활동 기록 보관이 켜져 있어야 합니다. 꺼져 있으면 이 기능을 쓸 수 없습니다.
활성 상태의 예약 작업은 한 번에 최대 10개까지입니다. 모든 개인 계정에 점진적으로 출시되는 중이라 아직 쓸 수 없는 계정도 있다고 구글은 적었습니다.
■ 예약하는 법
gemini.google.com 입력창에 요청을 쓰면서 원하는 시간과 빈도를 자세히 적고 제출합니다. 그러면 제미나이가 예약된 작업을 요약해 보여 줍니다.
구글이 든 예로는 다음 날을 준비하는 캘린더·할 일 목록·이메일 일일 요약, 관심 주제의 일일 추적, 날씨 예보와 개인 옷장 목록을 바탕으로 한 의상 아이디어, 새 언어나 취미를 익히는 일일 연습 퀴즈, 주간 뉴스 요약이 있습니다.
캘린더나 메일처럼 다른 앱을 쓰는 작업은 그 앱이 제미나이에 연결돼 있어야 합니다. 연결돼 있지 않으면 제미나이가 앱을 연결하라고 안내합니다.
결과가 준비되면 알림이 옵니다. 웹에서는 채팅 메뉴에 해당 채팅이 읽지 않음으로 표시되고, 모바일 앱에서는 휴대기기로 알림이 갑니다.
■ 언제 만들어지나 — 요금제에 따라 다르다
결과는 정해 둔 시각에 만들어질까요? 받는 시각과 만들어지는 시각은 다릅니다.
구글 AI 요금제에 가입하지 않았다면 제미나이는 제시간에 제공하려고 최대 몇 시간 전에 콘텐츠를 준비합니다. 요금제 가입자는 정해진 시간 전 1시간 이내에 준비합니다.
그래서 구글은 주식 가격처럼 빠르게 바뀌는 데이터는 받을 때 최신 상태가 아니며, 예약된 작업은 일일 요약과 마무리 작업에 가장 적합하다고 적었습니다. 그런데 같은 문서의 활용 예에는 주식 포트폴리오와 암호화폐 가격을 추적하는 일일 시장 보고서도 들어 있습니다. 이런 용도라면 숫자가 준비 시점 기준이라는 점을 알고 봐야 합니다.
위치도 고정됩니다. 날씨처럼 위치가 필요한 작업은 작업을 만든 위치를 이후 모든 대답에 씁니다. 다른 곳 기준으로 받으려면 작업을 새로 만들거나 위치를 지정해 고쳐야 합니다.
■ 고치고 멈추고 지우기
관리는 설정 및 도움말 → '예약된 작업'에서 합니다. 사용 중지로 바꾸면 지우지 않고 멈출 수 있고, 더보기에서 수정하거나 삭제합니다. 작업이 들어 있는 채팅에서 제미나이에게 바꿔 달라고 해도 되고, 그 변경은 이후 반복에 적용됩니다.
대답이 오지 않는다면 비활성 상태라서 작업이 자동으로 사용 중지됐을 수 있습니다. 언제든 다시 켤 수 있습니다.
■ 더 큰 자동화로 넘어가기 전에
제미나이에는 복잡한 워크플로를 자동화하고 진행 중인 작업의 일정을 관리하는 개인 AI 에이전트 'Gemini Spark'도 있습니다. 구글은 Spark의 일정이 채팅의 예약된 작업과 다르다고 구분했습니다.
Spark 문서에는 경고가 붙어 있습니다. 로그인 정보나 결제 세부정보처럼 민감한 정보를 작업 대화에 직접 입력하지 말고, 민감한 작업은 일정을 설정하지 말라는 것입니다. 사용자가 오프라인일 때 일정이 실행되면 의도치 않은 동작을 중지하지 못할 수 있다는 이유입니다.

Scheduled actions in the Gemini app prepare results such as news summaries or schedule rundowns for a time you set; Google says you can make Gemini part of your daily, weekly or monthly routine. But results are prepared in advance: fast-changing data such as stock prices will not be current when you receive it.
On Naver's Q&A service, a search for 'AI work automation' returns 6,919 questions as of September 24.
■ Before you start
Sign in with a personal Google account or a work or school account with a qualifying Workspace edition, and have Keep Activity on; with it off, the feature is unavailable.
You can have up to 10 active scheduled actions at a time. Google also says it is gradually rolling out to all personal accounts, so some may not have it yet.
■ How to schedule
At gemini.google.com, write your request with details on the time and frequency you want, then submit. Gemini shows a summary of the scheduled action.
Google's examples include a daily summary of your calendar, to-dos and email to prepare for the next day; daily topic tracking; outfit ideas based on the weather forecast and your wardrobe list; a daily practice quiz for a new language or hobby; and a weekly news summary.
Actions that use other apps, such as calendar or mail, need those apps connected; if not, Gemini will prompt you to connect them.
When a response is ready you are notified: on the web the chat shows as unread in the Chats menu, and the mobile app sends a notification to your device.
■ When it is prepared depends on your plan
Is the result made at the time you set? The time you receive it and the time it is made differ.
Without a Google AI plan, Gemini prepares content up to a few hours early to deliver on time; with a plan, within one hour before the set time.
So Google says fast-changing data like stock prices will not be up to date on receipt, and that scheduled actions suit daily summaries and wrap-ups best. Yet the same page's examples include a daily market report tracking your stock portfolio and crypto prices - for that, keep in mind the numbers are as of preparation.
Location is fixed too: for location-based actions such as weather, the location where you created the action is used for all future responses. For another place, create a new action or update it with a location.
■ Edit, pause, delete
Manage them under Settings & help > Scheduled actions: toggle one off to pause without deleting, or use More to edit or delete. You can also ask Gemini in the action's chat to change it; changes apply to future runs.
If responses stop arriving, the action may have been turned off automatically for inactivity; you can turn it back on any time.
■ Before bigger automation
Gemini also has Gemini Spark, a personal AI agent that automates complex workflows and manages schedules for ongoing tasks. Google distinguishes Spark's schedules from scheduled actions in chat.
Spark's page carries warnings: do not type login details, payment details or other sensitive information directly into the task thread, and do not schedule sensitive tasks - if a schedule runs while you are offline, you may not be able to stop unintended actions.
